Description
Midnite Solar DC breakers, useful for PV arrays or small battery banks. Rated 150V at amperages from 1A to 63A. DC interrupt current rating 10,000 amps.
These attach to a DIN rail in the back of the box, with bare wires attaching to screw terminals on the top and bottom. Accept wire sizes 14AWG – 6 AWG (1.5 square mm to 4 square mm)
These are a step up from automotive fuses and breakers. The can handle higher voltages and interrupt much higher currents.
Warning: Do Not use AC breakers for your DC system, use these instead. DC can arc across much larger gaps and AC breakers may not stop the current when they trip. For a great visual demo see this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Zez2r1RPpWY
