Description
Airtime Units expire after 6 Months (for the 500 Unit card) or 1 year (for the 1000 Unit card) and are non-refundable. This new pricing plan by Inmarsat eliminates some of the lower cost options they used to have.
Voice calls are made using a smartphone linked by WiFi to your Explorer 510 BGAN terminal, or with the handset on the older Sabre 1 BGAN terminal. Voice calls to “fixed” phones cost one Unit per minute. Calls to cell phones or sat phones cost more.
Data use costs one Unit for 110 kbytes of data. Be careful that other apps on your smartphone don’t silently download updates etc. in the background or your units will be used up very quickly!
